In 2006 the Capital Athletic Soccer Club formed a partnership with Nike Soccer and became a Nike Sponsored Club. As a Nike Sponsored Club, CASA was fast tracked to becoming a Nike Premier Club by 2007. CASA gained immediate access to Nike Tournaments and Friendlies. In addition all of CASA's tournaments officially became Nike Sponsored Tournaments. In return all CASA teams, players and coaches agreed to exclusively wear Nike uniforms and use Nike equipment.
Nike, regarded as the world’s leader in apparel and footwear, has been a longtime supporter of soccer in the United States. Since 1995, Nike has been a major sponsor and licensee of U.S. Soccer, outfitting both the men’s and women’s national team programs, as well as the youth national team programs. Nike also sponsors a host of top international teams including Brazil, Portugal and Holland as well as a number of internationally renowned clubs including Arsenal, Manchester United, Barcelona, Juventus and Boca Juniors.
