CASA Boca Jrs 96 (U12) Girls Finalist at Cal Cup!
Posted on July 11th, 2008
The Boca Jrs 96 girls team had a very successful first tournament of the season. Battling the heat and poor air quality the girls began the tournament with a 1-0 win over Livermore Elite and followed up with a 7-0 win over Vacaville Thunderbirds Force later that afternoon. The next morning saw the girls play a tough Modesto Ajax team to a 0-0 draw but only needed a tie to move into the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, the girls struck early in the first half and held on for a tough 1-0 win over a very good Elk Grove Everton squad. The championship game was very hard fought with BOCA and CV Arsenal tied 0-0 at the half. Midway through the second half CV Arsenal scored on a nice crossing play. BOCA had a few scoring opportunities of their own but were unable to find the back of the goal. The girls played good, hard soccer, but the Arsenal won the championship game 1-0. Great job girls!!
