U18 Eclipse College Showcase Tournament
Over the Memorial Day Weekend the U18 Girls Academy team traveled to Temecula for the Eclipse College Showcase. The team played 3 games in 3 days against Santa Clarita, FC Slammers, and Nomads. All three games were good competition for the Academy team and the team ended the tournament with 1 win, and 2 ties.
The first game was played against Santa Clarita. Brynne Konkel scored 2 goals and Jen Ericson scored 1 in a 3-1 win. Erin Rost and Myia Williams split time in the goal.
The second game was against FC Slammers. Kelsey Costan scored the only goal for Boca off a corner. FC Slammers equalized with 5 minutes left in the first half. The game ended in a 1-1 tie. Danielle Lovato, Crystal Romero-Lopez, and Courtney Strombeck were key components in midfield controlling the game.
The third game was against Nomads. Nomads played strong and scored in the 2nd half to go up 1-0. With 7 minutes left in the game, Boca served a corner into the box and Brynne Konkel put the ball away to tie the score 1-1.
