Boca 96 U12 Boys Finalist at Beaverton Cup

beaverton boca 96 boysBEAVERTON, OR -- The Boca Jrs 96 boys participated in the Adidas Beaverton Cup on July 17th - 20th. The tournament was hosted by the Westside Metros Soccer Club. Over the past years, Westside has developed into one the top clubs in Oregon along side FC Portland and Lake Oswego Soccer Club.

boca 96 girls beavertonHot on the heels of their runner-up finish at Cal Cup, the Boca Jrs 96 girls claimed the championship at the Adidas Beaverton Cup!  The girls  joined the rest of the U12 sub-group in the cooler climes of  Beaverton, Oregon for a fun and successful trip.  The girls started their tourney with a 2 – 0 victory over Club Dosveedanya from  Washington.  Several hours later, cheered on by a boisterous crowd of their sub-group comrades, the girls posted a victory under the lights against the Cascade Soccer Club.  Although the girls moved the ball impressively and took good shot after good shot throughout the match,  they only found the net once.  But that was enough as the stalwart  defense pitched another shutout.

CASA Boca Jrs 96 (U12) Girls Finalist at Cal Cup!

u12 girls cal cupThe Boca Jrs 96 girls team had a very successful first tournament of the season.  Battling the heat and poor air quality the girls began the tournament with a 1-0 win over Livermore Elite and followed up with a 7-0 win over Vacaville Thunderbirds Force later that afternoon.  The next morning saw the girls play a tough Modesto Ajax team to a 0-0 draw but only needed a tie to move into the semi-finals.  In the semi-finals, the girls struck early in the first half and held on for a tough 1-0 win over a very good Elk Grove Everton squad.  The championship game was very hard fought with BOCA and CV Arsenal tied 0-0 at the half.  Midway through the second half CV Arsenal scored on a nice crossing play.  BOCA had a few scoring opportunities of their own but were unable to find the back of the goal.  The girls played good, hard soccer, but the Arsenal won th

U18 Eclipse College Showcase Tournament

Over the Memorial Day Weekend the U18 Girls Academy team traveled to Temecula for the Eclipse College Showcase.  The team played 3 games in 3 days against Santa Clarita, FC Slammers, and Nomads.  All three games were good competition for the Academy team and the team ended the tournament with 1 win, and 2 ties.

The first game was played against Santa Clarita.  Brynne Konkel scored 2 goals and Jen Ericson scored 1 in a 3-1 win.  Erin Rost and Myia Williams split time in the goal.

 


Boca Jrs 92 Girls Stand Proud in the Laguna Hills Eclipse College Showcase

temeculaTEMECULA, CA --  Over this past Memorial Day Weekend, the U16 Boca Jrs. Girl’s team traveled to Temecula, CA to participate in the Laguna Hills Eclipse College Showcase.  Their competition included teams from LAFC, Laguna Hills and Santa Clarita.

• Ari Calderon, senior, St. Francis – Four-year player scored 16 goals and was the co-Delta River League MVP.


Boca Jrs Academy Girls Sparkle in Northwest Showcase

TACOMA, WA --- Last weekend the Boca Jrs Girls U18 team participated in the Northwest Showcase held in Tacoma, Washington.  In spite of having had only a couple of practices since the recent tryouts, the team performed very well and won all three of their games.  The Showcase is sponsored by adidas, the new equipment supplier and partner with Capital Athletic Soccer Academy.  In addition to strong competition in a beautiful setting with excellent fields, the event also includes seminars held at the Tacoma Convention Center designed to assist the youngsters with the process of making informed choices of colleges to attend after graduating from high school.  There were also sessions on sports psychology and dealing with the cost of college.

SACRAMENTO, CA -- Sarah Miller, a Bocar Jrs 97 player attended the Osborne Tarpley Soccer camp at Ashton Park on April 9. She wants to become a professional soccer player. Watch her KCRA interview.
