The quality of play by the Boca team was excellent and in addition to their normal possession game showed a great deal of attaching initiative creating and taking an unusually high number of shots on goal. It was impressive to see the players put into practice what they have been doing in practice. They are beginning to be more subtle about their passing game, differentiating when to hold the ball and when to pass rather than automatically pushing the ball to a teammate. The habit of two way play is also catching on. Backs are venturing into the attack and playmaking when they have time with wing backs looking to overlap every chance they get. Forwards and midfielders are also becoming more consistent with their defensive responsibilities. Overall it was a very good display of soccer and the team was able to distinguish themselves in their style of play with good results. The performance of the team was even more impressive when one considers that we only had only 12 people at the third game and exactly 11 bodies at the last game. The players were clearly exhausted at the last game but were able to show the necessary intelligence and courage to still play well enough to win.
The U17 team was coached by coach Ralph Ramirez and assisted by Boca Technical Director Berhane Andeberhan. Congratulations and Good luck Boca!
