Davis, CA -- The U12 CASA Boca Jrs 95 girl won the 2007 Davis Shootout on four consecutive shut-outs last weekend.  They played three regular games in their four-team flight and a final game for the championship against a rival team from Placer United.


Boca Jrs 95 Girls Takes the 2007 Cal State Stanislaus 6 vs 6 Championship

                                              Turlock, CA Boca 95(June 13, 2007) -- Boca Jrs 95 girls had an eventful day last Saturday in Turlock at the Cal State Stanislaus 6 vs 6 tournament playing against a variety of talented teams, including a tough contingent from Stockton.  The sunny, mild weather and the natural surface of the 50 x 44 playing field were both excellent.  However, the day did not start off well as the big home team, playing down, seemed determined to dominate the event by leveraging their size and aggressive, physical playing style.  Number 4, Bailee Lupton discovered this early in game one when she injured her ankle as she was taken out during a drive down field.  The injury was concerning enough to warrant a trip to the ER for some X-rays which turned up a nasty sprain.


Boca Jrs 95 Boys Impressive in the Lake Oswego Nike Cup

Boca 95s at NikeLake Oswego, Oregon -- With a backdrop of record-breaking heat for the area, the Boca Jrs 95 boys tied the EMFC Gunners in game one with a second-half goal by Eric Tassev.  Saturday morning saw slightly cooler temperatures but a much hotter Boca team.  The Bocas scored 6 goals in the game, including four goals in the first half by Eric Tassev, Yotzin Castrejon, Cole Davey and Alex Van Dyke.  WUSC Juventus played a tougher second-half, but the Bocas answered twice more.  Amar Bassi kicked a solid ball directly into the goal; Brandon Woo scored on a cross by Steven Pye.  Final score: 6-2.


Boca Jrs 95 Grils Advance to Lake Oswego Nike Cup Final

The U11 Boca Jrs 95 girls had an outstanding showing in their first tournament together.  The girls earned shutout victories in their first four games and scored eleven goals while allowing just three.  The team showed great heart and spirit throughout the week-end advancing to the Nike Cup Final.

In the opening gave vs. MRFC 95 Cosmos (WA), the Boca girls came out with ton of energy.  They dominated the match and created numerous scoring opportunities.  Clare Carrol and Elizabeth Hutchingson broke loose and were able to convert for a 2-0 win.  The second game Boca faced the Vancouver Courage (WA) and prevailed 1-0 off another Clare Carroll goal.  Maddy Deters and Bailee Lupton led a strong Boca defense to a hard fought shut-out.  The third match of the tournament was a 5-0 rout over WUSC Rockers (WA).  Elizabeth Hutchison led the way to victory with two goals.  Marian Haarmeyer, Julia Beck, and Brigid Lummis also scored in the match for Boca.


Juggle-A-Thon Champions

Juggle-A-ThonSacramento, CA -- The first annual Capital Athletic Soccer Academy Juggle-A-Thon was a huge success as many players got to raise money and demonstrate their outstanding juggling skill.

Michelle Kimball, a member of the Boca Jrs 92 Blue team, won the competition with 530 juggles. Her teammate Sarah Cheever finished second with 468. In third place was Sara Martinez followed by two members of the Boca Jrs 95 U11 girls Clare Carroll (241) and Marian Haarmeyer (138).

The Juggle-A-Thon was held in conjunction with the Boca BBQ to kick off the 2006/2007 season. Over 400 people attended the BBQ at Larchmont Park.
