LAKE OSWEGO , OR -- In their first tournament of the year, the Boca Jrs 93 girls traveled to Oregon to play in the Lake Oswego Nike Cup.  The first year team showed progress throughout the weekend, with their only loss coming in the opening game against the eventual champion, FWU Reign, by a score of 1-0.  This was a hard fought match throughout that left Boca without the equalizing goal despite a 12 minute flurry at the end where they earned four corner kicks and four free kicks inside the Reign’s half of the field. 

Boca responded in a strong way in game two where they had several near misses on the offensive end, but were able to keep the host club Lake Oswego Hurricanes off the board as well for a 0 – 0 tie. 

Sacramento, CA -- The Capital Athletic Boca Jrs 93 girls kicked off their season on Sunday by sweeping the Sacramento State 6-A-Side Tournament.  It was the first event of the season for the girls under the direction of new coaches Vince Friend and Antonio Sutton.

Boca opened the tournament with a 5-0 victory over Sacramento United.  They then defeated San Juan 3-2.  In the third match of the tournament they defeated Sac United again 2-1 and ended up facing San Juan in the finals.  In the Championship game Boca earned a 2-1 victory.

The members of the 2006/2007 Boca Jrs 93 Girls team are Sarah Avery, Spenser Bradley, Katie Clark, Kate Costa, Jordyn Delaney, Madeline Easterbrook, Corrine Friend, Chelsea Lewandowski, Jennifer Lum, Jasmine Mercadel, Leah Parrish, Cora Young, Lindsey Sramek, April Nelson & Morgan Lefebvre.

RIPON, CA -- Seven girls from the Capital Athletic Soccer Academy were named to the 2006 Cal North State Pool in various age groups.

Goalkeeper Abby Williams and forward Chrystal Martinez were named to the Cal North '93 State Pool.  Defender Jen Ericson and midfielder Courtney Strombeck were named to the Cal North '92 State Pool.  Midfielder Rachel Mercik and defender Hannah Davidson were named to the Cal North '91 State Pool and left back Brooke Harrison was named to the Cal North '90 State Pool.

The girls will train with their State Pool throughout the Spring and early summer.
